Juiy 200726.07.2007A new building for petroleum faculty at Udmurtia State University will have been built by 2008 «RussNeft» will see that the students move as soon as possible - We are in a great need of a new building! - exclaims Alexey Volkov, dean of petroleum faculty at Udmurtia State University. – Now our students are «spread» over the whole university having classes in different buildings. It is extremely difficult for the faculty to develop under such conditions at the same time providing a new higher level of education.
Our petroleum faculty is comparatively young. It was open 14 years ago and since then considerable results nave been achieved. Graduates from the faculty work for major oil companies not only in Udmurtia, but all over Russia. To meet the needs of the age at the faculty there appear new braches of study (there already exist 4). But our professors posse a much greater potential
- A new building for us is not just separate premises. First of all, it gives the possibility to create a unique petroleum institute which will be equipped in accordance with up-to-date technical standards – says Alexey. – 22 modern scientific laboratories are already preplanned. The building is designed for 600 people. At present we have approximately one thousand students including those who are part-time. There will be enough room for everybody. And students themselves are looking forward to moving as soon as possible.
Besides the professors and the students, there is also top management of one of the major regional refineries – OAO «Belkamneft»- who are concerned for the petroleum faculty to acquire a new «residence» place. The entity is actively contributing to the process.
- Naturally, our aim is to replenish the company’s staff with young highly educated experts, - says Vladimir Ignatko, General Director of ÎÀÎ «Belkamneft». – We are interested to prepare excellent experts at our petroleum faculty as this activity will help our company to develop in a very active way. «Russneft» which comprises «Belkamneft» strives for social prosperity of all regions where its subsidiaries operate. High quality education is another key figure of prosperity.
Starting form 2003, «RussNeft» has been supervising the construction of the petroleum faculty building. Thus, in 2006 only there were transferred 15 million roubles.
- I am very greatful to «Russneft» and ÎÀÎ «Belkamneft» for support! – says Alexey Volkov. – I hope, that the 15th anniversary of our faculty in 2008 will be celebrated in a new building.
