The strategic decision to include a research center in the structure of the company will help RussNeft achieve high efficiency in developing its oil and gas fields, and ensure proper exploitation of its resources which have significantly increased in 2006.
Among other objectives the Center is to focus on producing reservoir engineering documents for the oil producers of the Company to develop their oilfields, and on enhancing the efficiency of oilfield development through creating and monitoring oilfield geological and hydrodynamic simulation models. Moreover, the Center shall control the quality of the research work on reservoir engineering and on geological study of the subsoil to be done by independent service companies. The immediate plans of the Center are aimed at establishing RussNeft corporate standards for research engineering on geological simulation of oilfield development.
In the team of RussNeft Research and Technology Center there are highly professional staff members including 10 doctors and candidates of sciences, 2 members of Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, and 2 laureates of the RF Government Premiums in Science and Technology. In compliance with the geography of RussNeft activities, the Center has been structured with regional task-oriented units to carry out reservoir engineering and development of the oilfields in the Northwest, Povolzhsk, Central Siberian, West Siberian and Ural upstream sections of the Company.
