ÎÀÎ "Ulyanovskneft" is developing 21 oilfields at the territory of Ulyanovsk Region. All the oilfields being developed by OAO “Ulyanovskneft” at present are divided into two groups: Southern group and Northern group. Southern group encompasses Baranovskoye, Varvarovskoye, Golodiayevskoye, Novospasskoye, Repiovskoye, Volodarskoye oilfield and Pavlovsky area. Northern Group consists of Zapadnoye, Pravdinskoye, Filippovskoye,Vostochno-Filippovskoye, Yuzhno-Filippovskoye, Birlinskoye, Vishenskoye, Yuzhno-Vishenskoye, Ovrazhnoye, Vostochnoye, Zapadno-Raduzhnoye, Bezymiannoye, Kudriashovskoye, Zimnitskoye and Severo-Zimnitskoye oilfields. The oilfields of Northern group are situated in the North-East of Ulyanovsk region in Melekessky, Cherdaklinsky and Novo-Malykinsky districts, the other six oilfields (Southern group) - in the South of the region, in Novospassky, Nikolayevsky, Pavlovsky, Starokulatkinsky and Radishzhevsky regions. As of January 01, 2011 the remaining recoverable reserves by C1+C2 categories make 46,9 million tons. Growth and development of the resource base is provided by means of accomplishment of geological prospecting works.
In 2005 «RussNeft» purchased by auction the right to use prospective Pavlovsky license area. In 2006 – 2010 there were carried out geological prospecting works within the boundaries of this area. In 2009 the company carried out seismic works at the area covering 600 linear km. (On the whole seismic works volume in 2006-2009 amounted to 1200 linear km). According to the assessment given by geologists, preliminary data confirm exploitability of deep exploration drilling. At the present moment in Pavlovskiy license area there was planned prospecting and appraisal drilling of two wells, which aims to prove oil reserves within the upheaval identified through seismic works.
The oilfields of the Southern and Northern groups of OAO “Ulyanovskneft” were discovered and explored in the 1950th and 1970th and they are being developed since 1980 - 90th. To maintain the production level the company intensively applies the program of geological and engineering works, carries out capital and current repair of wells.
OJSC Oil and Gas Company “RussNeft” makes substantial investments in upgrading production infrastructure of the Southern and Northern Groups of oilfields belonging to OAO “Ulyanovskneft”. In 2010 there was optimized technological scheme of charge and transportation of petroleum fluid at Varvarovskoye, Birlinskoye and Baranovskoye oilfields; there was carried out installation of APMS (automatic pad metering station) “Sputnik” at Volodarskoye and Zapadnoye oilfields. Within the framework of realization of program on utilization of associated petroleum gas at Baranovskoye oilfield there was started-up water-heating boiler KS-G-100, working on associated petroleum gas. In Zapadnoye oilfield there was introduced method of dual well operation, which allowed to obtain incremental oil rate.
According to the results of 2010, the enterprise has extracted 401.365 thousand tons of oil. OAO “Ulyanovskneft” renders operator’s services to ZAO JV “Nafta-Ulyanovsk” , OAO “NGDU Penzaneft”, OAO “Nefterazvedka”.
