The company is developing Shapshinskaya group of oilfields (incliding Verkhne-Shapshinsky, Nizhne-Shapshinsky, Sredne-Shapshinsky areas), net effective pay exceeds 88 million tons. 
OAO NK “RussNeft” numbers development of Shapshinskaya group of oilfields among the projects strategically important for the Company. Further development will enable the Company to bring up annual oil production at these license areas to 1.5 million tons.

Preparation for phased bringing into development of the three oilfields of the group was completed in 2004-2005. During this time there were built the main objects of engineering infrastructure which permitted to come close to commercial exploitation. In 2006 oil producion began at Nizhne-Shapshinskoye oilfield. Verkhne-Shapshinskoye oilfield was placed in commission in the end of 2008 and Sredne-Shapshinskoye – in May 2009.

In 2010 the company continued developing engineering and prooduction infrastructure of Shapshinskaya group. There were completed four well pads, more than 20 km of  motor ways was built, high voltage power lines more than 14 km long were mounted. To secure oil transportation from Verkhne-Shapshinskoye oilfield to oil refining unit 1500  at Nizhne-Shapshinskoye there was built an intrafield pipeline more than 72 km long. In 2011-2014 development of engineering infrastructure of Shapshinskoye group of oilfields will go on. At Verkhne-Shapshinskoye oilfield it is planned to build and develop 13 well pads, there is also begun construction of BS-1 with annual capacity of 1.2 million tons. Commissioning of its first stage is appointed for May 2011.

Today the company is implementing at Shapshinskaya group of oilfields a comprehensive program of operation drilling and a programm of geologic and engineering operations. In 2010 there were put in production 45 new wells, including 12 ones with horisontal tailing-ins: the volume of extra production amounted to 314.639 thousand tons. During the same period there were performed 11 geologic and engineering operations, including 5 hydrofracturings of formation.

In 2010 oil production at Shapshimskaya group grew by 29 per cent and amounted to 1.386 million tons. Average daily production in December reached 4.023 thousand tons. In the current year the company is again planning significant oil production growth.  Increase of the volume of hydrocarbons production will take place due to implementation of drilling programs, in particular, it is planned to drill 46 new wells, including 10 ones with horizontal tailing-ins.  The expected oil production increment will amount to 212 tons.
One of the most important lines of the company’s activity is fulfilment of the program for associated petroleum gas utilization.
In February 2010 at Shapsha there was implemented a unique project of construction and start-up of a gas piston power station which permits to fully provide oilfields of the group with its own electric power and in future to bring up the level 0f APG utilization to 95%. It was a joint project with the companies OAO “Monolit” and “Salym Development petroleum”
The commissioned power complex will permit to increase APG utilization at Shapsha in amount exceeding 45 thousand cbm per day.
