OAO MPC “Aganneftegasgeologia”  was founded in 1998. The company is  a successor of Agansk Oil and Gas Exploratory Expedition set up in 1962 for exploratioon and development of the subsoil of the North Tyumen. The company discovered 84 oilfields. In 2005 OAO  MPC “Aganneftegasgeologia” was incorporated in the holding NK “RussNeft”.
The company is the holder of licenses for development of three subsoil areas which include eight oilfields: Zapadno-Mogutlorsky license block (Zapadno-Mogutlorskoye, Mogutlorskoye, Vat-Yeganskoye, Severo-Pokachevskoye, Zhilinskoye oilfields), Roslavlsky area (Roslavlskoye oilfield), Chukhlorsky license block (Yuzhno-Roslavlskoye, Chukhlorskoye oilfields) as well as of the license for geological survey within the borders of Amputinsky area.
The net effective pay is assessed as more than 24 million tons of oil. The operating stock numbers 76 producing wells. The extent of production in 2010 exceeded 800 thousand tons of oil. In the past year the company performed at the oilfields 45 geologic and engineering operations, put into exploitation 7 new wells including 4 horizontal wells, extra production amounted to 184.143 thousand tons. 
During 2010 the company was actively developing and upgrading its production infrastructure. The new section of the gas pipeline Roskavlskoye oilfield – Novoagansk, lately commissioned, permitted  to increase the volumes of gas supplies to the borough  of Novoagansk up to 70-75 thousand cbm, which fully meets the borough’s demand for “blue fuel”. A new chemical analytical laboratory was built at BS-2 in Roslavl. Metering station No 590 at Zapadno-Mogutlorskoye oilfield  was  upgraded. The company expanded the system of high voltage power lines and oil-gathering mains.
In the past year OAO MPC “Aganneftegasgeologia” continued delivering operator’s services in the sphere of oil production to three subsidiaries of the oil holding “RussNeft”: OOO JV “Chernogorskoye”, ST ZAO “Goloil” and OAO “Mokhtikneft”.
In 2011 within the frames of implementation of associated petroleum gas utilization program the company is going to start building oil pipeline CPF – point of tie-in to the gas pipeline PS “Povkhovskaya”- Lokosovsky gas processing plant (OOO “Lukoil” – Western Siberia). Implementation of the project will permit to increase the volume of processing of APG produced at Zapadno-Mogutlorskoye oilfield up to 95%. In 2011 the company will continue implementing drilling programs, in particular, it is planned to drill at Roslavlskoye oilfield one well wth horizontal tailing-in and one injection well. The volume of extra production will make 48.048 thousand tons of oil.
